In a world where quick fixes and fad diets dominate headlines, true health often feels confusing or overwhelming. But what if the key to wellbeing isn't found in the latest trend, but in understanding foundational health?
I believe that your body communicates its needs through various signs and symptoms, and my role is to help you understand and respond to these signals.

Hi, I'm Allison, and I'm a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and FEMM instructor (Fertility Education and Medical Management).
My journey into nutritional therapy wasn't a straight path.
As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences I often got the question, "Oh you studied nutrition...so what should I eat?" To which I often responded, "I can tell you how Vitamin A is processed in the body, how your cells produce energy, and what hemoglobin is, but I don't know how to tell you what to eat other than whole foods."
Despite eating healthy, whole foods, I didn't always feel healthy. I grappled with inexplicable fatigue and digestive issues that left me feeling disconnected from my own body. Conventional wisdom offered band-aids, not solutions. Podcasts gave me fun tips, but I didn't see whole-picture into the root causes of my fatigue, insomnia, energy crashes, sugar cravings, and slow recovery from workouts. It wasn't until I stumbled upon nutritional therapy [https://www.nutritionaltherapy.com/] that the pieces started falling into place.
The changes weren't overnight, but they were profound. As I dove into addressing my own struggles from the root cause, I found deeply supportive strategies in nutrition, lifestyle, and supplementation that gave me results I couldn't find anywhere else!
This personal transformation ignited a passion to help others navigate their own health puzzles. The Nutritional Therapy Association provided education to deeply connect my background in nutritional science into practical, personalized strategies for my clients. I would love to help you reach your goals to feel good and get rid of the constant worry around eating. Read more about my journey with fertility education below!
As a certified FEMM Instructor (Fertility Education and Medical Management) [https://femmhealth.org] I have experience teaching women about their menstrual cycle as a vital sign of health. Pair this with nutritional therapy and you can be an amazing health advocate for yourself for the rest of your life. Not only do I teach the basics of how to chart your cycle, but I teach you about the main hormones involved and when to seek "Medical Management" interventions beyond the education that I provide to you. The ability to chart your signs and symptoms well is the key to assessing menstrual cycle health and empowering you to advocate for your own health.

From working in Catholic ministry for several years in a variety of settings, I learned a passion for helping people find restoration of something in their lives that was missing.
My mission as a nutritionist is your body finding the restoration it needs.
In my free time, you might find me cross country skiing, painting, playing tennis, experimenting new recipes in the kitchen, playing guitar, going for walks, reading non-fiction, spending time with family and friends, or recording a new podcast with my friend Anni!

Nutritional Therapy is a bio-individual approach to health challenges that uses Nutritional Assessment Questionnaires, practitioner interviewing, analysis of body system burdens, and application of all of these to our Foundations of Health (see my Home page). This is not just looking at a chart of numbers and telling you generic advice, it is tailored to where your body needs support the most. The accountability, motivation, and wisdom from an NTP will guide you towards lasting transformation.
Hey there... if you're one to splurge on health fads and run with new podcast tips every month trying to get to the root of your own symptoms (you know...), I want you to stop trying to figure it all out on your own and talk to someone who takes a foundational approach! Your body has the innate ability to rebalance itself. I can help you identify and support the systems that are crying out for help. And you can learn both short-term targeted therapies as well as long-term habits for lasting health!
I want you to ask yourself these questions. Do you struggle with chronic fatigue, sugar cravings, afternoon crashes, reliances on caffeine every day, difficulty falling or staying asleep, brittle hair or nails, acne, PMOS, fertility struggles, bloating after eating, lack of energy and motivation, trouble losing or maintaining weight, stress around food choices, or other symptoms that have crept up on you..? Are there other missing pieces of your health puzzle that you can't seem to figure out on your own?
What would optimal health and energy look like daily for you?
I'll tell you right now, I believe your health is worth it.
Nutritional Therapy meets you where you're at and calls you higher! This is for anyone who wants to feel better, support their body more, and reverse the trend of preventable poor health in this country.
A "bio-individual" approach is one of our core values as Nutritional Therapy Practitioners. This means that we don't just look at a chart of numbers and assign a systematized protocol. It means we hear your story, investigate hidden patterns that no one else has taken the time to notice, and make a plan that is tailored for you based on your lifestyle, schedule, challenges, and goals.
We do not currently accept insurance at this time.
Nutritional therapy offers a sustainable path to wellness by addressing root causes and tailoring strategies to your unique needs. Let's talk about your health goals and how we can achieve them together. I'm here to guide you towards a more energized, balanced version of yourself.
